broken shadows ride high on Halcyon wings

the moon and sun embrace;
all I can see
is sapphire ablaze

Kingfisher,
midnight’s jewel,
alights a chariot of stars
gliding effortlessly onto the wish-fulfilling tree
A sadhu in disguise

We have met before
he says,
can you not remember –
in a land untouched by desire

Kingfisher,
lapis dust
fallen from the sky
